ACA is Crushing Healthcare with Regulations

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) – also known as Obamacare – is churning out thousands of pages of regulations that doctors, hospitals, insurance companies and everyday citizens are having to live under now that ACA is the law of the land.

With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, community-centered healthcare is experiencing dramatic changes. Those changes are not always best for patients or for the community. And the current methods for delivering healthcare in our community are falling behind as hospitals shift their focus from in-patient treatment to community health outcomes.

From the USA Today:

Along with partisan sniping, Washington, D.C. sure creates a lot of paper. And the Affordable Care Act is really adding to the pile. The nearly 11,000 pages of regulations for this one law alone would reach three feet high if you made the mistake of printing it.

As of November, 2015 some experts anticipate that ACA will have more than 20,000 pages of healthcare regulations. These regulations will impact doctors and hospitals, but rates increase from these regulations are starting to impact ratepayers pocket books.

Some of the details of the law are far more pertinent than others for consumers. Put simply, you need to be insured or face a penalty starting in 2015, you can’t be denied insurance or face a wait to get it because you have a pre-existing condition and if you’re a senior citizen, there will be a cap on how much more you can be charged for health insurance than a young person.

Politicians in Washington meddled with healthcare and gave us Obamacare. Do we really want local politicians also meddling in our healthcare? If the answer is no, then I urge you to learn more about our cause by visiting
